The Wine and Retail Shop at Viaggio is located within the restaurant itself and is open during all hours that the restaurant is open. The shop offers one of the largest and most interesting selections of wine in the Reno area at the most competitive prices anywhere. Besides the many wines that one would expect to find at a top tier wine shop, there are an astonishing number of wines from little known, but highly regarded, wineries. The staff of Viaggio is continually visiting wineries throughout the west coast to taste and choose new selections for the enjoyment of their patrons. This commitment to continually expanding the offerings of the store allows for an ever changing selection and the opportunity to try and experience wines that had not previously been available to wine lovers in Reno. The staff is well trained and is available for consultation on any matter whether it be the choice of a few bottles of wine or the purchase of a complete wine cellar. Also featured in the Wine and Retail Shop at Viaggio are numerous other specialty items for the wine and food connoisseur. There is a wide variety of fine wine glasses for every type of wine as well as wine bottle openers and wine storage items. For the food lover, there are many types of specialty pastas, coffees and table accessories available. The Wine and Retail Shop at Viaggio also features a large array of gift baskets for both individual and corporate gifts. Besides the regularly offered gift basket combinations, the staff can also prepare a special gift basket to your own specifications. Gift certificates are available for all items in the Wine and Retail Shop as well as for the restaurant itself. On Thursday evenings, there is a regularly held wine tasting event beginning at 6:00 PM. The $15.00 charge covers a tasting of at least four different wines, refills of all wines tasted and a generous supply of appetizers prepared from the menu of Viaggio. The store also offers a wine of the month club which introduces its members to a new winery each month and provides its members with a discount for retail purchases made from the wine shop. Depending on the wines, the cost of this program varies from $30-40 per month including shipping and handling for the delivery of each month’s wine selection directly to the member’s residence.
